THE AFRICAN STANDARD-ONLINE EDITION
After years of Western media's negative characterization of African continent, The African Standard Magazine is here to profoundly tell the world of the good things taking place in Africa and move away from Western kind of reporting which, too often, focuses on the negative events and totally ignores the positive side.
In most cases , the great and majestic continent of Africa has been greatly misrepresented by foreign correspondents as a dark continent ravaged by war, Diseases, poverty, hunger, violence and natural disasters. This is indicated by the fact that such incidences are given wide coverage, while postive things that happen in Africa are given very little coverage or no coverage at all.
The driving force behind our Mission is simply to show the World positive face of Africa. Also, to rise to the momentous occasion that confronts all Western Medias which seek to use massive propaganda to paint Africa as the most miserable Continent that ever existed on the face of earth.
It is our mission to expose their nagative agenda and lies that support their bias stories.Through authentic reporting, cool analysis, thoughtful commentary and passionate argument, The Standard is intended to beat back the stigma that has influenced some of African journalists to believe that reporting the style of their Western counterparts is the only best way of reporting.
The Standard is also intended to inform, educate and entertain society with the purpose of reaching certain objectives. Most of our entertainment stories will be spiced by traditional matters that will paint positive image of our most valuable culture. We will also give our local artists the opportunity to show their talents via our Magazine.
The African Standard is founded out of a conviction that the task of changing the image of Africa lies in the hands of all her journalists.
Of course, in the end, it's the task of all African Journalists to help the African society to claim back her lost dignity and identity by setting the records straight and reporting every single good thing that cometh out of Africa no matter how small it may sound to be.
